The Nigerian gospel music community has been thrown into grief and anxiety following reports of the death of rising gospel artiste Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, widely known as Toluwanisings.
The news gained traction on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, after human rights lawyer and Convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), Pelumi Olajengbesi, shared a tribute on his official social media page.
Expressing deep concern over the recurring loss of young Nigerians, Olajengbesi called for divine intervention while pleading for God's mercy upon the singer.
"My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings," Olajengbesi posted alongside the singer's image. "I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us. We say no to untimely death."
While shockwaves spread across social media, some close associates and entertainment figures urged restraint, holding out hope for a miracle.
Popular comedian and content creator Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba) appealed to fans and the public not to draw immediate conclusions regarding the situation.
"Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please," Woli Agba wrote on his page.
Echoing similar faith in the comment section, singer Boyebest added, "Yes yes yes. Yeah I have faith in God. I do. God you’ll do this one."
As of the time of reporting, the exact circumstances surrounding the singer's health condition and reported passing remain unconfirmed by his immediate family or official management.
Toluwanisings earned widespread recognition across the West African gospel landscape for his spontaneous Yoruba worship sessions and hit tracks including "Kabiyesi Olorun Ayo".
