Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak ended her attempt at a cook-a-thon and revealed that the Guinness World Records will look into her proof after she recorded 227 hours of cooking in ten days.

When Failatu battled to remove Irish chef Alan Fisher, who had overthrown Nigerian chef Hilda Baci in November 2023, from the record for the longest cooking marathon, the Guinness World Records acknowledged her attempt to smash that record.

Fisher broke Baci's previous record by over 24 hours after cooking for 119 hours and 57 minutes, and his position as the world record holder was formally confirmed on November 7, 2023.

On New Year's Day, Failatu started her project in the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, Ghana, where she cooked for 227 hours.

It was discovered that throughout the cooking session, Abdul-Razak prepared a wide range of foods.

On Wednesday, when the timer reached the 227th hour, supporters at the spot applauded the achievement.

Following the extended session, Guinness World Record sent a statement on its X account.

GWR wrote: “We look forward to reviewing her evidence!”
