Forget betting and fast - Naira Marley to Muslim brothers on Ramadan

Singer, Naira Marley has taken to social media to advise his fellow Muslim brothers to desist from betting the during Ramadan period.

He urge them to fast and pray rather than engage in sports betting and sure odds.

The Marlian President wrote; “Bro leave that sure odds and forget betting..fast”.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar, who doubles as the president of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), said on Wednesday night that the holy fasting month of Ramadan would begin in Nigeria on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

The National Moonsighting Committee announced this following the sighting of the crescent moon in various locations in Nigeria.

Muslims are expected to fast from just before the sunrise prayer, Fajr, to the sunset prayer, Maghrib throughout the month.
