Fierce banter between GRV supporters and Comedian Seyi Law

Supporters of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the governorship candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 guber election, and comedian Seyi Law have been at odds on social media following the outpour of derogatory language the comedian used against the aspiring governor.

Gbadebo's fans did not hesitate to fire back when the comedian called Gbadebo the son of a returned slave who had just chosen to remain in Lagos and that if his children grow up to be like GRV, then they have no right to rule over his people.

Seyi Law went on to say that he had a larger stake in Lagos State than Gbadebo did.

His words: "Your stupid father should have taught you that I am more of a bigger stakeholder in Lagos than the son of a returned slave who decided to stay in Lagos. O da bi aye awon to bi e fe baje. I am an ILAJE with Mahin origin. Go and ask about us in Lagos before the partitioning of states. Olosi ikeji aja. Ka a da fun e."

A supporter of Gbadebo with the user name @Uncle Charles tackled Seyi Law stating that GRV was more of a son of the soil than he (Seyi) was and referred to him as a "stack ignorant illiterate."

He wrote: "Imagine Seyi Law, a stack ignorant illiterate whose qualification is a roadside recharge card seller using such bigoted words addressing an MIT trained Architect, a son of the soil of Lagos State. A vibrant, young technocrat from Lagos State who can trace his ancestry as far back"
