Bayelsa State Governor Duoye Diri has denied being in any relationship with former Big Brother Naija star Nengi Thompson.

An anonymous blogger, Gistlover, has alleged that the reality TV star welcomed a child with the governor, who already has four wives.

The blog wrote, “SHALL WE?? By the way, she welcomed a child with a governor … 5th wife in the making? Make I talk abi make I face front? All these girls be doing the most, owo ijoba na yansh dey chop am… this gist is super messy… all the hide and seek don end ooo .”

Nengi dismissed the claim, saying she had no relationship with the governor but respects him.

The spokesperson for Bayelsa Governor, Diri, Dr. Kola Oredipe, has also denied the allegations, calling them a “baseless fabrication”.

According to him, the governor has no personal relationship with Nengi and stated that these allegations were made by those who are unhappy with the governor’s political profile.

Oredipe said: “Nengi Rebecca Hampson has no personal relationship with Governor Diri. It is regrettable that purveyors of fake news are not happy with the towering political profile of the governor.

This is a distraction, and some of us are very justified in the many reasons offered to regulate the use of various social media platforms.

Sadly, while we were inaugurating a brand new road in Yenagoa, social media e-rats were spreading falsehoods about the governor.”
