Nollywood actress Akingbemisola Dorcas Anjola popularly known as Gbemi Anjola threw the movie industry into a state of mourning following her sudden death.

The fast-rising actress has since 2021 been battling ovarian cancer.

Gbemi had a six month chemotherapy session in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and then returned to Nigeria after being declared cancer-free.

She unfortunately experienced memory loss and a headache on March 24, 2023, and was taken to the hospital right afterwards where she sadly passed away.

1. Age:

Gbemisola Anjola was born in 1990 and died at the age of 33 years. Her birth month and day are unknown.

2. Childhood and education:

The actress spent her childhood days in Lagos State. She attended St. Saviour's School in Ikoyi for her elementary school before transferring to Queens College in Lagos for her secondary studies.

She was accepted to Covenant University in Ota, Ogun State to pursue mass communication after completing her secondary education. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2014.

3. Marriage life:

Gbemi is a secretive person who maintains the privacy of her personal affairs. However, she is married to the CEO of the well-known talent agency Twenty20 Media and talent manager Femi Ajayi.

4. Movie career:

Gbemi Anjola began her acting career in 2011 when she played the lead in the short film “Once.” She went on to appear in a number of other films, including “Before 30,” “The Arrangement,” and “Shuga.”

She became an on-air personality for the Beat FM 99.9 radio station in 2015, where she currently hosts the popular show “The Beat 99.9FM Drive Time Show” with co-host Segun Emdin.

She is also a co-host on “The Morning Rush,” alongside Olisa Adibua and Folu Storms.

5. Cause of death:

The 33-year-old actress died on Friday, March 24th, 2023, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She had been suffering from the illness for some time.
