EXCLUSIVE: Ruggedman defends Halima Abubakar over fake baby picture

Rapper Ruggedman has come to the defence of actress Halima Abubakar who was dragged on social media just days after she gave birth to a baby boy.

The actress was dragged over a picture showing a baby's hand which she shared on Instagram to announce the arrival of her baby. This was after the picture was discovered to belong to an American woman who called her out.

Ruggedman, who is one of the few who knew about the actress's pregnancy and delivery, revealed what transpired between both of them before she was dragged on social media.

In an exclusive interview with MyNigeria.com, he said, "I knew she had a baby like some days before she posted it on her page, that's why she was thanking me for keeping it secret. She sent me a DM the day she had the baby, but she now told me not to post it. She attached the picture of a baby's hand. So after she has posted, I sent her a DM saying 'can I post the DM you sent me?'. I just wanted people to know that I knew before everyone else".

The rapper also revealed that he was surprised when he discovered that the picture of the baby she uploaded on social media belongs to someone else.

"I posted the picture myself only for me to see people saying it is not her baby, that it is somebody else's baby picture. The first thing that crossed my mind was 'why?'.

Ruggedman also revealed what Halima Abubakar said when he reached out to her concerning the controversy generated by the picture.

"When I confirmed, she said she just wanted a random baby picture because she wasn't ready to take pictures of her baby. She just took a random picture from the internet not knowing that the owner of the picture will come forward and start talking".

Halima Abubakar has now revealed that the reason why she didn't post her own baby's picture on Instagram is because he was born prematurely.
