Don’t fight for Nigeria; fight for yourself – Portable tells protesters the country is okay

Portable Portable

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable, has dismissed the reasons for the planned nationwide protest.

Due to the economic hardship across the country, Nigerians have scheduled a protest across the 36 states beginning on August 1 and continuing until August 10. This is to show President Bola Tinubu-led government the terrible state of the economy.

Taking to his Instagram story on Thursday, July 25, 2024, Portable stated that there was no reason to embark on the protest. He described Nigerians who planned to participate in the demonstration as jobless.

He also warned that individuals should not ask him to perform at the protest as he takes his job seriously.

Portable insists that the country is okay and that there is money but people are lazy and have refused to fight for themselves.

The singer said, “It won’t be well with anyone who tells me to perform during the protest. Don’t you have a producer too? You should also collect the mic and join the protest too.

“Please, I need money, I’m hustling. If you take your job seriously, you won’t join the protest. Don’t fight for Nigeria, fight for yourself.

“Nigeria is okay, you are the one who is not okay. There is money in some places, you are the one who did not hustle or not loyal to your helper.

“You are the one who doesn’t make connections. There are people who can help, there are jobs. You are the one who is not working. Fight for yourself,” Portable said.
