Before signing any contract, Jaywon urged them to ensure they carried out due diligence on the label and proposed record deal noting it was usually easy to get in but extremely difficult to opt out especially before the expiration of the contract.

The “This Year” hit maker hoped those concerned would learn a lesson or two from Mohbad’s travail and eventual sudden death and adhere his advice.

He tweeted: “If I Dey talk about record label politics some of this boys go dey open mouth Dey disrespect.

“Open your eye very well before you sign any contract.

“Don’t see record deal as poverty alleviation and go rush sign. You go regret am.

“Because once you sign, to leave before it expires is the most impossible thing to do becuz they will always frustrate you and on top of that they will ask you to buy yourself out and you know what that is Keep resting #mohbad and I hope a lot of young artist learn from this.”
