Dixie Crush country singer, Lindsey Lagestee dies at 25 after being hit by a car

A country singer for cover band Dixie Crush, Lindsey Lagestee, has been announced dead at age 25.

The singer was hit by a car on February 14 on her way to perform in Illinois and died on February 17.

A death was confirmed on Facebook by the country music cover band.

"Some of you may have already heard the terrible news, but It is with the heaviest of hearts, we sadly share that Lindsey Renee passed away on Monday due to complications from the accident last Friday," the post, alongside a photo of Lagestee, reads.

"Our hearts are broken over this senseless tragedy."

"Above and beyond being an incredible performer, great friend, and the best bandmate, Lindsey was a loving daughter to Linda and Vaughn, compassionate sister to Lauren, Carrie, and Samantha, adoring aunt to Andrew, Colin, Danielle, Alexander, and Amber, and wonderful girlfriend to Kevin," the post concluded.

Largestee was hit by a car while Firewater Saloon in Chicago and was confirmed dead after she was rushed to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.

Bandmate Jim Nonneman said: 'She had just parked a couple of blocks down for the club we were scheduled to play,' he said.

'She exited her pickup truck and was making her way to the venue when she was struck by a car.'

Asides being a musician, Largestee was also a pharmacist and graduated with a doctorate from Midwestern.
