Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie, is among the many Nigerians that have come out to express disapproval of Desmond Elliot's recent comments during a plenary session at the Lagos state House of Assembly.

Recall Elliot sparked outrage online after he referred to Nigerian youths as children, adding that they use social media to promote hate speech.

Edochie in a recent Twitter post, threw subliminal message at the lawmaker, shaming him for focusing on social media when Nigerians are dying of hunger.

He wrote:

"After watching those looting videos, every good leader should be having sleepless nights working out ways to improve the living standard of the masses. Nigerians are dying of hunger. Rather your headache is social media. Shame!"

Yul Edochie isn't the only celebrity who has taken a public stand concerning Elliot's controversial statements.

Celebrities including Uche Jombo, Don Jazzy and Lala Akindoju all took to social media to share their thoughts on the matter with some putting him on full blast.

Well, Desmond Elliot has taken to social media to tender an apology to Nigerians over his remarks during a recent sitting at the Lagos state House of Assembly.

Pulse had earlier published a video of the lawmaker reacting to the recent looting and destruction of properties in Lagos during a plenary session at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

In the video, Elliot said that he didn't believe ‘children’ on social media could be bold enough to curse and insult their leaders following the Lekki shooting incident on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
