'Dem too dey insult people on this app' - Funke on why she ran away from Twitter after election

Popular Nollywood actress-turned-politician, Funke Akindele has opened up on why she took a leave from the microblogging platform, Twitter after losing the gubernatorial election.

Recall that Funke Akindele who was the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Lagos State, Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, had deleted all her campaign posts and political-related posts shared on her on social media after the elect ion.

This follows the victory of incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In response to a fan who asked why she disappeared from Twitter, she said: “Dem too dey insult people on this app, so I stay off.”

The user with the handle @apexproperties2 asked; “Madam Funke, I cite you. Longest time, you ran away from us or what happened?”

Funke responded, “Dem too dey insult people on this app, so I stay off.”

In a similar trend, another user @Odun_is_my_name under the comments section asked if Akindele was afraid of the people.

@Odun_is_ my_ name wrote: “Are you afraid of people?”

Funke answered: “No I’m not afraid. I’m just careful.”
