Afrobeat musician Davido has taken aim at a Nigerian man who expressed disapproval of him for abandoning his intentions to assist a physically challenged street vendor, who has been shown to be a man passing for a woman.

Hours ago, it was claimed that the philanthropist had stopped supporting a physically challenged pure water vendor who had gained widespread attention a few days prior.

After realizing she is a guy, Davido, who had taken a liking to her and contacted his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, for assistance, reversed course.

He informed his uncle on Twitter that they had been duped and that they should stop supporting him.

His post backfired, as many pointed out that the hawker's gender-bending was motivated by preference toward the other gender.

Given that he is from the singer's home state of Osun, a Twitter user pointed out that his identity does not alter the fact that he needs assistance.

The user wrote: “Na man, does that change anything tho? He is from Osun, he is challenged and disabled, and he needs all the help he can get. He deserves a good life too! He needs help!! Unless you and your uncle are clout chasers!! The boy needs help!!”.

Davido responded by telling him to assist the youngster because the boy also had the last name "Adeleke."

He wrote: “U get money na. Sir, ur last name nah Adeleke. Go help am”.
