Dangote leads private sector in fight against coronavirus in Nigeria

Aliko Dangote, founder and chairman of Dangote Group, an industrial conglomerate in Africa, is leading a charge alongside private sector leader in the battle against COVID-19 in Nigeria.

This is coming after the philanthropist announced that he tested negative for the deadly virus having had contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

He announced that he will be leading a coalition of [private sector leaders, tagged the CACOVID initiative, to support the FG in the fight against the pandemic.

He took to Twitter to make the announcement on Sunday, March 29.

His statement reads: "CACOVID(Coalition Against COVID-19) is an initiative that I am leading with other private sector leaders&our common goal is to support ongoing Government initiatives with our resources in the fight against Covid-19. We are in this together & I am optimistic we will overcome."

The deadly virus has infected a total of 97 people in Nigeria with just one death so far, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control - NCDC.
