DJ Switch brags about 'roasting' Wole Soyinka during a panel discussion

Nigerian Disc Jockey and Song writer, DJ Switch has bragged about blasting renowned writer, Wole Soyinka when she had the chance to speak about him at an event.

Taking to her official X platform, she wrote: "Was a panellist at an event over the weekend and just before the event started, we all got talking about African writers and of course Nigeria’s contribution.

"Someone brought up Wole Soyinka (whose works are quite exceptional if I might add) … and I was given the floor.

"Brethren … I would like to let you people know that I did not let one bullet go astray! Wole Soyinka unlike many of his counterparts chose to be completely separate from his works and also chose to display his bigotry and myopic thinking these past few months. It was my esteemed pleasure to roast the uncle while maintaining decorum and extol other Nigerian writers!"

This comes not long after Wole Soyinka stated that the Labour Party were aware that Peter Obi lost the February 25 election.

Speaking at an event in Stellenbosch, South Africa, Soyinka said: "Peter Obi achieved something remarkable there, that he broke that mould. However, he did not win the election.

"I can say categorically that Peter Obi’s party came third not even second and the leadership knew it but they want to do what we call in Yoruba ‘gbajue’, that is force of lies."
