Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okunneye, widely known as Bobrisky, is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2024 after serving about approximately four months in jail.

Bobrisky was convicted on April 12, 2024, by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos for abusing naira notes.

He was sentenced to six months in jail with the option of a fine after pleading guilty to the crime of naira abuse.

Celebrity journalist Stella Dimoko Korkus shared that Bobrisky’s time in jail has been less strict than anticipated.

She posted on her Instagram page, “Cross-dresser Idris Olarewaju Oduneye, jailed for six months in March for abusing Nigeria's Naira, will be released on August 5, 2024. It’s not as if he's really in jail; he’s been enjoying internet access and call time. The only restriction is that he cannot leave his location."
