Crayon discloses his darkest year, how he almost lost his life

Fast-rising singer Charles Chibuezechukwu, better known by his stage name Crayon has opened up about his struggles with health problems and public acceptability.

During a recent appearance on "Drip Check," the singer revealed that, despite recording songs one after the other, he struggled with depression in 2020 as a result of the lack of public acceptance.

Crayon, who is signed to Mavin Records, also talked about his near-death experience in 2022.

He noted that it was a miracle seeing how far he had come and the things he had achieved because people do not come out of depression and when they do, they don't remain the same.

Crayon said: “2020 was one of my darkest years in the game. I dropped about seven songs and no one gained traction. I remember when I dropped ‘Gbona,’ it was about to take off then COVID-19 struck and everything shut down. And ‘Gbona’ was a club banger. I dropped the video, but it still didn’t pick up. I was dropping songs biweekly.

“I had a breakdown in early 2022. People don’t come back from that sh*t, me standing right here now is a miracle. I almost lost my life,” he added.
