Coronavirus reportedly enters Ghana Coronavirus reportedly enters Ghana

Ghanaian authorities have reportedly taken two foreigners in for testing after they developed symptoms of the deadly coronavirus.

According to reports, the two foreigners, an Argentine and a Chinese, are currently at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital under the directives of a private hospital in Accra.

They are expected to go through series of medical test at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR).

Since its outbreak, the deadly virus has claimed about 600 lives.

In an interview with a local news outlet, Dr William Baah, Greater Accra Divisional Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, disclosed that the two patients moved to Ghana on different dates. The Chinese has been been in the country since 2019 whilst the Argentine travelled to Ghana in January 2020.

He added that:

“They’ve all developed some symptoms that fit the case definition [but] it doesn’t mean they have the disease,”

However, more test will be run on them to be certain that the two do not have the virus.
