Confusion over Junior Pope's death

Fresh rumours that Nollywood actor Junior Pope, who was declared dead in a boat accident on Wednesday afternoon, April 10, 2024, is still alive have sent the Nigerian entertainment business into a state of disarray.

On Wednesday, filmmaker Sam Olatunji revealed that Junior Pope and three other individuals died after their boat overturned when they were trying to cross the River Niger for a filming location.

Emeka Rollas, the president of the Actors Guild, also confirmed Junior Pope's passing.

Reports indicate that the actor has now been brought back to life and is receiving treatment.

Sharing a video of the incident scene to confirm that Junior Pope was alive and receiving treatment, actress Ruth Kadiri wrote: "God is faithful every working actor knows the risk we take in this business daily no be here! May his mercies continue to prevail over judgement In our lives… we will not lose our lives or that of our loved ones… while in search of our daily bread!"

Reality star Phyna also wrote: "I heard Junior Pope is alive… We pray for quick recovery.”
