Twitter, owned by Elon Musk, has threatened to sue Meta, the parent company of Facebook, for its new competitor Threads app.
Alex Spiro, Musk's personal attorney who also assisted with his takeover of Twitter, addressed Mark Zuckerberg a formal letter raising Twitter's "serious concerns" about the legality of Threads the evening after Meta released its brand-new text-based app, Threads.
According to the letter, Twitter will sue Meta because it utilized "Twitter's trade secrets and other intellectual property" to construct Threads, which is against the law.
Elon Musk finally spoke out on Meta's Twitter rival Threads in a recent trending tweet after word of his attorneys' cease and desist letter to Mark Zuckerberg circulated online.
Elon stated that competetion is normal between firms however, cheating was not.
He wrote: "Competition is fine, cheating is not."
