Nigerian comedian and filmmaker AY has issued a stern warning about so-called friends who eagerly exploit negative stories about others for clout and profit.

In a recent social media post, AY expressed concern about people who pose as friends but are quick to amplify damaging news just to trend or earn a profit.

He wrote:

“Beware of anyone who calls you a friend yet rushes to jump on any negative news about you just to trend and gain monetisation. Not everyone around you wishes you well. May God protect us from friends who are truly enemies in disguise. Their karma is never far.”
