Ojude Oba Festival, which in Ijebu dialect means the king's forecourt or frontage, was recently celebrated in Ijebuland, Ogun State, and the entire kingdom was in a joyful mood.
Excitement permeated the air as locals and guests, all dressed in vibrant attire, made their way to the palace of His Royal Majesty Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of the Ijebu Kingdom, the traditional venue for the yearly celebration.
Each Age Grade (Regberegbe) took turns honoring the supreme ruler of Ijebu-land by giving him various foodstuffs and other objects while there was loud singing, dancing, and drumming going on.
Men and women from various Regberegbe groups also demonstrated their dancing skills.
