A video capturing a tense altercation between a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law has gone viral online, drawing widespread reactions from social media users.

The clip, which has amassed more than four million views on X (formerly Twitter), shows the older woman entering the house and exchanging greetings with her son and nephews before walking to the center of the living room.

She then confronts her daughter-in-law, who was seated, accusing her of failing to greet her. Despite the accusation, the younger woman remains calm and stays seated.

The situation quickly escalates when the mother-in-law angrily removes her bag and begins slapping the daughter-in-law several times.

Instead of retaliating, the younger woman stays seated and asks the older woman to respect herself.

Her response appears to further anger the mother-in-law, who demands to know why she was not greeted. She then grabs the younger woman’s shirt and briefly chokes her.

The confrontation continues as the mother-in-law repeatedly slaps her on the head and face, while the daughter-in-law still refuses to fight back.

At one point, the younger woman warns her not to lay hands on her again, but the older woman responds defiantly, asking who she is that she cannot touch her.

Several men in the room, believed to be family members, appear to side with the mother-in-law during the incident, telling the younger woman to remain quiet while their mother speaks.

Before the video ends, the older woman is heard accusing the daughter-in-law of disrespecting her son.
