Celebrating his 58th birthday today is the widely known Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola. He was born on a day like this in 1962.

Known as the Chief Executive Officer of Forte Oil Plc, Mr. Femi began his career in the 1980’s where he worked as a marketing personnel for his family’s printing business before he ventured into oil and gas.

Foreseeing the opportunities in the business led him to establish Zenon Petroleum Oil and Gas Limited in 2003 and as it yielded, he bought shares from African petroleum and was appointed the Chairman because of his shares.

The name African petroleum was later changed to Forte Oil Plc with lots of improvement in management and technology put in place by Femi after he owned the biggest share in the company.

Femi is also the president of SeaForce Shipping Company Limited. Consistent in his business career, he took a path into the financial industry. He is one of the major shareholders in Zenith and United Bank of Africa (UBA).

Otedola has embarked on numerous philanthropic gestures to help and support a good work cause from the federal government, to schools, businesses, etc.
