Carter Efe makes it to Kai Cenat’s 2026 streamer university

Nigerian comedian, skit-maker and livestreamer Carter Efe has secured a spot in Kai Cenat's Streamer University Class of 2026, with several Nigerian outlets reporting that he is the first Nigerian, and by some accounts, the first international creator to be admitted into the program.

Kai Cenat, the American Twitch star behind the initiative, unveiled the roughly 120-strong Class of 2026 after ending a nine-month streaming hiatus with a dual-platform comeback broadcast to reveal the program's new "students" and "professors."

Carter Efe's inclusion was confirmed on social media, with footage of the moment he was accepted circulating widely among Nigerian entertainment pages. His team was also seen celebrating the milestone shortly after the announcement went public.

Carter Efe joins a class that includes Skai Jackson, Queen Naija, Sara Saffari, StableRonaldo, PlaqueBoyMax, Sketch, and JasonTheWeen, alongside fellow Nigerian creator Damii, who was also selected for this year's cohort.

Streamer University is a multi-day creator program founded by Kai Cenat in 2025, built around workshops, collaborative livestreams and mentorship from established names in the online content space. Applicants could apply as students, professors or club directors, with accepted participants receiving free attendance, meals and accommodation, and choosing from activity clubs like Drama, Film, Musical Arts, Cheer and Fraternity.

Cenat reopened applications for the 2026 class in June with a Harry Potter-themed trailer that drew millions of views before he named this year's finalists.

Carter Efe rose to prominence through comedy skits before expanding into music, scoring a hit with his song "Machala," and more recently building a following as a livestreamer known for hosting musicians and other public figures on his broadcasts.

His selection follows in the footsteps of fellow Nigerian creator Shank Comics, a standout from the program's inaugural 2025 class whose appearance introduced him to a much larger international audience and led to a widely publicized $10,000 gift from YouTuber MrBeast.

With his admission, Carter Efe is expected to receive direct mentorship from Kai Cenat while collaborating with other rising creators from around the world — a moment Nigerian fans and commentators have described as a breakthrough for African creators on the global streaming stage.
