Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has expressed his disappointment with churchgoers who use their mobile phones during worship services, describing the practice as a sign of disrespect toward God.
In a post shared on social media, the actor questioned why people find it difficult to stay off their devices for the duration of a service.
"It’s sad seeing people who go to church and be pressing their phones inside the church while mass or service is going on. You mean you can’t stay off your phone for an hour in respect to God?" Edochie wrote.
Comparing church attendance to meeting political leaders, Edochie pointed out that people willingly surrender their phones when visiting high-profile figures like governors or presidents.
"If you go to see a Governor or President, your phones will be taken from you for hours and you’ll be ok with it. But while you’re in the presence of our Creator, you can’t put off your phone and listen to His word? Really sad," he added.
