‘Burna boy is a musician not an artiste’ – Bella Shmurda

Nigerian singer Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has shared his thoughts on the difference between an artiste and a musician.

During an interview, Bella noted that before a person can be called a musician, one must be able to do more than just sing.

He said, many artistes just jump on trends but lack the passion to create music on their own.

While speaking, he names the likes of Burna Boy, Fela Anikulapo, Angelique Kidjo and himself as musicians.

Bella was of the view that anyone who can sing can be termed as an artiste but what disqualifies them as musicians is their lack of basic skill to create music.
