Basketmouth reacts to VeryDarkMan, Mr Jollof's public fight, says its embarrassing

Popular Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has weighed in on the viral in-flight altercation between social media activist VeryDarkMan and entertainer Mr Jollof, describing the incident as “embarrassing.”

It was earlier reported that both men were detained by the Delta State Police Command on Monday, November 17, 2025, after exchanging blows aboard a United Nigeria Airlines aircraft.

Reacting in a video shared on Instagram, Basketmouth expressed shock over the behaviour of the two public figures, questioning how a disagreement escalated to the point of a physical fight inside an aircraft.

He said:

“Like everybody else, I just saw the video of Mr Jollof and VDM fighting in a public space—not just any public place, but inside a plane. As plane tight reach, these grown men still find space dey fight. And I asked myself, how did we get here?”

The comedian also referenced his long-running feud with fellow comic AY Makun, noting that despite their differences, it never degenerated into physical violence.

“Me and AY get issues for a long time, but it never got to the point that me and him go start to exchange punches. How embarrassing is this? Why can’t we just live in love and peace?”

The clash between VDM and Mr Jollof stems from a deep-seated feud that began after VeryDarkMan accused Mr Jollof’s wife of having affairs with politicians and internet fraudsters to secure political appointments for her husband in Delta State.

In response, Mr Jollof and his wife filed a ₦500 million defamation suit against the activist.
