Banky W couldn’t do without me in the EME days – Wizkid brags

Grammy Award-winning singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun better known as Wizkid has discussed why Banky W couldn't function without him at EME in his recently released course, Music Business 101.

Recall that Wizkid entered the Nigerian music scene while he was a signed artist to the EME record company, owned by renowned Nigerian musicians Banky W and Tunde Demuren.

Wizkid claims that Banky W, the creator of the now-defunct EME, found it difficult to ignore him since he was too skilled to survive without.

Additionally, Wizkid said that when you succeed as an artist, everyone would want to collaborate with you since success is something that everyone supports.

Wizkid gave advice to young artistes, telling them that no record label can push them as hard as they want as an artist because they must first put in the work.

In his words; “No record label can push you as much as you want. Like you have to actually put in the work, everyone supports everything that is successful, everyone wants to affiliate with anything that’s successful.

“So if you’re too good, they will never neglect you or they won’t want to work on your project

"They will want to invest this is business.so if you’re doing a label proud, they will invest in it. if you’re not you don’t expect them to just be throwing money out there.”
