Banana Island: I'm proud of my father's achievement - Billionaire's son Kiddwaya

Former Big Brother Housemate, Terseer Kidd Waya has said he is proud of his father's accomplishments.

His father Terry Waya is a known billionaire in the country, who founded Banana Island, an artificial island off the offshore of Ikoyi Lagos state.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, Kidd Waya said that when the news broke about his father being the founder of the famous Banana Island, he was amazed and proud of his father's achievement.

According to him, being the son of a billionaire comes with many challenges with several persons attributing his success to that of his father's hard work.

Adding that he works hard too and whatever his father's success stories are remains for his father and not him.

"What I face on a regular is that people don't believe I work hard because they feel like 'oh, it's your dad's connection, your dad gave it to you'. They have this misconception that everyone from a privileged background gets things handed to them easily. And to be fair, that's not the case."

He noted that, since his return from the Big Brother House, he has been working extremely hard wanted to prove to the world that he can do just like his father.

"That is his hard-earned money, I'm still trying to hustle for my own money."
