Following the arrest of Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka aka Baba Ijesha, Lagos Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has said that the actor would remain in custody until the judiciary workers resume from their strike.

The Commissioner made this known while speaking on the protest carried out by Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi on Wednesday at Panti, the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.

Fabiyi led protesters to the station, to demand the release of his colleague, Baba Ijesha over what he describes as the 'illegal' detention of the actor.

Baba Ijesha was arrested for molesting a 14-year-old girl in the home of Comedienne, Princess.

The police commissioner mentioned that Baba Ijesha's continuous detention is based on legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions in the state Ministry of Justice and after a prima facie case had been established against him.

He noted that should the JUSUN strike continue, Baba Ijesha’s detention will be reviewed.
