BUA Group Founder, Abdulsamad Rabiu, pledges N3.3bn to COVID-19 fight

Founder of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu has pledged the sum of N3.3bn in grants to combat the raging coronavirus that has rendered populated cities like Kano and Lagos helpless.

In a statement, Rabiu committed the whopping sum of N3.3bn to a working group made of the Presidential taskforce, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, and stakeholders involved in equipping the treatment facilities in both cities.

Explaining how the grant would be shared, N2bn was donated to the Kano-based intervention, N1bn was set aside for Lagos while N300m was disbursed to the Presidential taskforce for aiding its operational activities.

The working group were charged with the power to utilise the resources at its disposal to ensure the treatment facilities and hospitals are fully equipped in the shortest time.

"I believe this will effectively help to expand the scope of interventions, ongoing research, as well as support, already stretched medical facilities dedicated to this fight," the founder said.
