Nigeria has confirmed 14 new coronavirus cases, taking the number of recorded cases to 111, according to the NCDC.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control made the announcement on Twitter moments after the President's national broadcast on the coronavirus case.

At the time of the address at 7 pm on Sunday, Nigeria had 97 confirmed cases which prompted the president to initiate a two-week curfew in Lagos, Odun and Abuja States.

The NCDC statement reads:

"Fourteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Lagos and 5 in FCT

"As at 09:30 pm 29th March, there are 111 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death.

Of the 11 confirmed cases, the breakdown are as follows:

Lagos- 68
FCT- 21
Ogun- 3
Enugu- 2
Ekiti- 1
Oyo- 7
Edo- 2
Bauchi- 2
Osun-2
Rivers-1
Benue- 1
Kaduna- 1
