BREAKING: Gbadamosi, Naira Marley turn in apology letters

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Babatunde Gbadamosi and Nigerian singer have turned in their letters of apology for violating social distancing order issued by the Lagos State Government.

Copies of the letter with their official signatures were obtained by MyNigeria.com.

However, the letters had the date blurred for people not to ascertain the exact day it was submitted.

Nonetheless, the state government notified residents in a tweet.



Quite recently, Naira Marley, Babatunde Gbadamosi, Funke Akindele and husband, JJC Skillz's were arraigned before a magistrate court by the state government for defying the social distancing order by virtue of organising a house party.

The party had over 20 people in it and went on during this period when COVID-19 cases were tripling in Lagos.

Funke and her husband were sentenced to community service and a fine of N100,000 while Naira Marley and Gbadamosi were given a slap on their wrist to the astonishment of most Nigerians.

Just yesterday, the controversial singer offered to do a solo campaign against the coronavirus pandemic for the Lagos State Government, according to MyNigeria.com.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Babatunde Gbadamosi and his wife, Folashade, also had their charges dropped alongside Naira Marley and they agreed to partner with the state govt in the fight against the pandemic,

The to have “undertaken to work with the government to tackle the COVID 19 pandemic,” Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mr Yhaqub Oshoala told the court.

The agreement will see the trio offer a personal apology to the president and governor; give the undertaking to comply with the COVID-19 regulations, and go into self-isolation for 14 days and report back to the court.
