Ayra Star, Burna Boy, Tems, others nominated for Best African Act MTV EMA Awards 2022

MTV has unveiled its nominations for the highly anticipated MTV Europe Music Awards, which celebrates the work of global artists with awards and legendary performances from international music ions.

The event also features international artists who dominated the music charts this year, and some Nigerian artists have been nominated to receive honors in this year’s edition.

Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Star, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, and Temilade Openiyi better known as Tems were nominated under the Best African Act category.

Other African artists who were nominated in this category include Black Sherif from Ghana, Zuhura Othman Soud from Tanzania and Musa Makamu from South Africa.

It happened that Nigeria emerged as the African country with the highest number of artists being nominated in this category.

This year the event will take place in Dusseldorf, Germany, at the multi-functional indoor area PSD Bank Dome.

The event will broadcast live on MTV in over 170 countries on November 13. This year marks the sixth time Germany has hosted the event.
