Asake takes ‘M$NEY’ from studio to global stage

Afrobeats artiste, Ahmed Ololade aka Asake, is proving that his fourth studio album titled ‘M$NEY’ is more than a project; it is becoming a global live experience.

Fresh from an acclaimed performance at London’s historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the 31-year-old singer continued his international run this week with a high-profile appearance at Christian Louboutin’s menswear presentation during Paris Fashion Week, where he performed songs from the album before the crowd.

The Paris showcase came just days after Asake’s special one-night-only concert in London on Sunday, June 21.

Presented in partnership with Spotify, the exclusive event hosted the singer’s top listeners for the first-ever live performance of ‘M$NEY’ since its release in May.

Backed by a live orchestra and accompanied by renowned band The Compozers, Asake delivered a captivating performance featuring fan favourites from the album alongside four unreleased tracks.

According to his management, the performance was filmed in its entirety and will soon be released as a concert film on Spotify.

“Building on the success of the show, Asake has announced ‘M$NEY: The Live Album’, a special live recording of the project that captures the energy and musical depth of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane performance.

“A bold meditation on gratitude, prosperity, spirituality, and ambition, M$NEY showcases Asake’s signature fusion of melodic innovation and Afrobeats rhythm.

“Upon release, M$NEY topped streaming charts in more than 19 countries, including Nigeria, and peaked at No. 8 in the United States. Following the album’s success, Asake was ranked the No. 15 digital artist globally by Kworb Data, joining a list that includes some of the world’s biggest music stars,” the statement reads.

The singer’s international rise has also been recognised by the Recording Academy.

Asake earned nominations for Best African Music Performance at both the 66th and 67th Grammy Awards, receiving acclaim for ‘Amapiano’ featuring Olamide and ‘MMS’ featuring Wizkid.
