Actress and singer Angela Okorie has expressed profound gratitude and respect for the Nigeria Police Force as she ushered in the new month of July.
In an emotional Instagram post, Okorie recalled the harrowing experience of being shot and attacked in 2019, praising the police for their swift intervention, professionalism, and dedication during the rescue and investigation that followed.
Reaffirming her unwavering support for the Force, the actress stressed that she holds the NPF in the highest regard and would never speak ill of them under any circumstances.
She described the love and support she has continued to receive from the police since the incident as overwhelming and unforgettable.
Okorie also appreciated the recent invitation extended to her by the police and pledged to keep promoting the image and integrity of the Force.
She wrote: “Happy New Month, Nigeria! Happy New month, NPF! I, Angela Okorie, Legit Queen, want to take this opportunity to reassure the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the entire Nigerian public of my unwavering respect and high regard for the Nigeria Police.
“I will never, under any circumstances, disrespect the Nigerian Police in any manner.
“Let us not forget: on December 12, 2019, I was shot and attacked, and it was the Nigeria Police Force that rescued me and still conducting a professional investigation into the matter. Since then, the love and support from the NPF have been truly overwhelming and unforgettable. Finally, thank you, Nigerian Police Force, for the invitation last week. I promise to keep promoting the image and integrity of our dear NPF! Long live Nigeria! Long live NPF!
@nigeriapoliceforce @npf_nccc @adejobimuyiwa I remain your Legit Queen,
With love, Angela Okorie”.
Recall that the Nigeria Police Force had launched an investigation into a viral video showing actress Angela Okorie being escorted by armed police officers while jogging.
The Force said this incident is inconsistent with professional standards.
In a statement posted last Wednesday on its official X handle, and signed by Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police described the officers’ conduct as falling short of the discipline and decorum expected of personnel.
