The organizers of the American Music Awards have created a new category for the Afrobeats sound and have revealed the whole list of the category’s initial candidates.
Burna Boy, Ckay, Tems, Fireboy DML, and Wizkid are the Nigerian musicians who have received nominations for Favorite Afrobeats Artist.
This is a stunning development that demonstrates how far and wide the afrobeats sound has spread in recent years.
The award presentation is set to take place at the Microsoft Theatre in the United States on November 21, 2022, at 2:00am WAT.
