Popular Nollywood producer Afeez Owo has responded to actor Yemi Solade’s public apology over a past altercation on a movie set.
Recall that Solade, during a recent interview, admitted to slapping Owo years ago and publicly expressed regret over the incident.
He added that he had also spoken with some of their colleagues about it.
Speaking on the African A-List Podcast, Afeez Owo accepted the apology, describing Solade as his elder brother and stressing that he held no grudge.
“After seeing his apology, I let go of the incident. Even if he did not apologize, he is not at fault because it is like when an elder brother beats his younger brother. Even if the older one is at fault, the younger brother will be asked to apologize,” Owo said.
Recalling the incident, he explained that he was the production manager at the time, responsible for the welfare of cast and crew members. According to him, the misunderstanding happened while the team was moving from a location in Ibadan to another site in a Fulani resettlement area.
“I told everyone to inform me of their needs so I could make necessary purchases, but it seemed Uncle Solade misunderstood me. He was hungry and ended up slapping me,” Owo revealed.
The producer emphasized that he has since moved on, insisting that the matter is firmly in the past.
