According to Burna Boy, afrobeats is a genre of music that has absolutely no substance. He added that the music genre is nothing.

Burna Boy stressed that every afrobeats song is all about having a good time, but life goes beyond having a good time.

Reacting to a short clip of the interview that has gone viral, netizens expressed their shock about his statements.

With the interview being on an international platform, netizens accused Burna of using afrobeats to become popular only for him to turn around and talk down on the genre internationally.
