African music is nothing without Afrobeats - Seriki

Seriki Seriki

INDIGENOUS rapper, Seriki has said that the Nigerian music industry’s influence cannot be denied by other African countries.

Seriki, who recently held the second edition of his concert ‘Street On Fire,’ noted that with the way Nigerian music has dominated the world, it is safe to say it gives other industries the recognition.

He, however, urged stakeholders and artistes in the industry to keep the fire burning and never stop believing that the Grammy Award can go round.

“Well I will say a big shout out to all Nigerian music lovers and DJs who are spreading the gospel of Afrobeats around the world because without them the artists are nothing. Nigeria is the most populous black nation in the world, you have a Nigerian community in every country so they are the one spreading the gospel of Afro Beats.

“When the entire universe saw the kind of numbers AfroBeats artists are doing in the continent they had no choice but to align with the genre.

“Nothing is impossible with the rate our music is growing. We’ve done so much for African music and we are at the forefront of African music. No disrespect to other countries but if you take Nigeria out of African music what you have is not much. I just pray we continue to grow from strength to strength.”
