Award-winning singer, Davido says Osun governor, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is his uncle, is the best the state has ever had.

In a chat on the Culture Knock Out podcast hosted by Chris and Baloo, the singer expressed deep admiration for his uncle, indicating that he didn't let early criticism due to his well-known love for dancing affect his output as governor of the state.

Davido said the political journey of his uncle speaks to the popular saying that people should not be judged by their appearances or hobbies, adding that many never expected Adeleke, the last born in his father’s family to occupy a public office, let alone excel in it.

According to him, Adeleke has surpassed all expectations and delivered impressive results as governor.

He said: “My uncle, the Dancing Governor is good vibes. He has an amazing story, he is the last born of my dad’s family. They [Osun people] never believed that he would become a governor.

“He is a real example of, ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’; just because somebody likes to dance and have a good time, it doesn’t mean when it is time to work, he won’t. Now, he’s been the best Governor that they’ve ever had.”
