Nollywood actress and producer Temitope “Tope” Osoba has died at the age of 40, a year after she made an emotional return to acting.

The actress had survived breast cancer, inspiring others with stories of her recovery journey.

During the period, she revealed that she discovered that she had cancer when she examined herself. She then underwent surgery after public support to cover the cost.

After she was declared cancer-free, the actress returned to her career in 2025.

Announcing her return to the screen last year, Osoba described her recovery as a turning point in her life.

“I’m emerging stronger, more resilient, and more passionate about sharing my story and inspiring others,” she said at the time.

Unfortunately, the cold hands of death snatched her away from the Nollywood community.

Osoba was popular in the Yoruba section of Nollywood, starring in movies like Ile Owo, Omo Iya Kan and Gucci Girls. Osoba had also pledged to use her platform to promote breast cancer awareness and support others facing similar health challenges.
