Popular activist Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan has been released from police custody.

He was reported to have been released after completing all his bail conditions on Monday, June 10, 2024.

In a video circulating on social media, VeryDarkMan was seen walking with his lawyers after regaining freedom.

The activist was detained and arraigned on charges related to cyberstalking on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

He was arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, facing five counts of cyberstalking involving the Nigeria Police and Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, although he pleaded not guilty.

VeryDarkMan had earlier condemned the Nigerian Police for not arresting controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

He raised concerns over the decision to award the Best Dressed Female to the cross-dresser at a Nollywood event.

He also accused some police chiefs of having a sexual relationship with the cross-dresser hence their failure to arrest him.

In response, the Nigeria Police Force said it could not arrest Bobrisky because there was no law against cross-dressing in the country and no proof that he was engaging in same-sex relations.
