Abide by rules given by the government - US tell citizens in Nigeria

The US Mission in Nigeria has advised its citizens who wish to remain in the country to abide by the directives of the government concerning coronavirus.

This comes amidst preparation to evacuate American citizens from Nigeria due to coronavirus which first broke out in Wuhan, China.

A statement on its Twitter account reads:

“The U.S. Mission to Nigeria plans to continue to operate and continue the important work of representing the American people here.

“We ask Americans who remain in Nigeria to join us in abiding by the rules the Nigerian Government has established to keep us all healthy and safe”.

Nigeria currently has over 135 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country with the nationwide gradually gearing towards total lockdown.

A partial lockdown was declared in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who spoke in a nationwide broadcast on Sunday.
