Nigerian actress and popular skit maker Kemi Ikuseedun, widely known as Mummy Wa, has sparked widespread online debate after asserting that a significant number of women in the entertainment industry rely on transactional relationships with wealthy men rather than income generated purely from their craft.

Speaking during a podcast appearance, the content creator questioned the lavish lifestyles displayed by several female figures in Nollywood and digital media, pointing to a discrepancy between their visible earnings and personal expenses.

"A lot of women in the entertainment industry are prostitutes," Ikuseedun stated, citing a lack of traceable or verifiable income among many actresses and creators who receive cars, gifts, and cash in exchange for sexual favors.

Addressing aspiring female creators, the actress warned against believing that social media fame automatically translates to sustainable financial wealth.

"Many women go into content creation thinking that all they need is one viral video and they will become rich. It's a lie," she explained.

Ikuseedun further challenged claims that social media algorithms and ad revenue alone account for the high-end lifestyles showcased online, asking: "Are you managing your money or someone's money?"
