A-List actors shunned Mercy Johnson's movie premier because of tribalism - Uche Maduagwu

Actor Uche Maduagwu has blamed tribalism as the reason why most A-List actors shunned the premier of a movie directed by actress Mercy Johnson.

Over the weekend, Mercy Johnson held the premier of her movie The Legend of Inkpi which was attended by some notable celebrities.

However, the absence of top actors and actresses at the event was noticed. This has now been blamed on tribalism, according to Uche Maduagwu who stated that stars now prefer to support someone from their tribe over others.

He posted: “ @mercyjohnsonokojie and #Tacha are one of the very few celebrities that are not tribalistic when it comes to helping their fans… These two #beautiful role #models are not in the #whatsapp group of female celebrities who find it hard to help people who dont belong to their own #tribe . I am the only popular #actor in #Nigeria that has ever gotten the attention of @chrissyteigen in #Hollywood , haters can #google it, so believe me when i tell you that our #movie industry is not growing fast like it should because a lot of actors are tribalistic".
