6 popular movies you probably didn’t know was produced by Wale Adenuga

Ace Nigerian movie producer, Wale Adenuga was born on this day in 1950. He is a publisher, director, producer, and cartoonist who has contributed immensely to the growth of the Nigerian movie industry. His experience of more than 20 years has seen him produce some of the best sitcoms in Nigeria's history.

He is best known for productions like Ikebe Super, Binta, and Super Story which became a must-watch for most families back in the 1990s.

His creativity earned him a lot of notable awards including; the Best Socially Relevant Television Production at the Nigeria Film Festival in 2002 and the City People Movie Award for Best Movie Producer of the Year in 2019. In 2009, he was awarded Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

An astute entrepreneur, Mr. Adenuga believed specialization was the ultimate tool that could sharpen one's craft.

One of his famous quotes, reads: “Entrepreneurs have to be very careful. Sometimes you kill yourself with expansion. If you are a publisher, remain a publisher, the job of changing machines every year to the latest one is the job of the printer, not the publisher so that you can concentrate."
