Popular on-air personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has revealed why he exited the popular Honest Bunch podcast.
Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, Nedu said his decision to leave was influenced by the nature of the contractual arrangement between him and the podcast's owners.
According to him, the podcast was launched on the basis of a 50-50 profit-sharing agreement.
"I had the idea, and we decided to share the proceeds 50-50. I wasn't collecting money from the YouTube earnings because I didn't see the need for it. This is because they were paying salaries and other expenses," he said.
"The only place I was collecting money from was sponsorships, or when someone paid for the show. It was a gentleman's agreement without any written document, and that was where I made the mistake."
Nedu announced his departure from the podcast in February 2025, following an online controversy involving social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.
The controversy began after reality TV star DeeOne claimed during an episode of *The Honest Bunch* podcast that VeryDarkMan was attracted to men. Rather than responding directly to the allegation, VeryDarkMan fired back at Nedu, releasing what he claimed were private conversations and making allegations about the women the comedian had allegedly been involved with.
As the controversy intensified, Nedu announced his resignation from the podcast in a statement shared on his Instagram page, bringing an end to his role as one of the show's leading voices.
