10 Nigerian celebrities opposing the release of Baba Ijesha from police custody

Following reports that actor, Baba Ijesha may be released from police custody on Friday, April 30, some Nigerian celebrities have taken to social media to kick against the release.

This outburst from the celebrities comes after Baba Ijesha confessed to the molestation of a 14-year-old girl as he pleaded for forgiveness.

Social media in Nigeria has been divided with different opinions as many call
for justice for the child who was molested by the actor.

1. Femi Branch

The actor said he did not really understand the reason the police gave for granting Baba Ijesha bail.

2. Iyabo Ojo

The actress, who has been at the forefront of the issue, said if Baba Ijesha is released, he would be rearrested except he is taken away from Nigeria.

3. Tonto Dikeh

The actress was one of the celebrities who spoke out when the issue was first posted on social media. According to her, she has been pushing for the case to be transferred to Abuja and doesn't mind taking care of the logistics of the victim.

4. Femi Adebayo

The Yoruba actor simply noted that he stands with the foster parent of the 14-year-old girl.

5. Muyiwa Ademola

The actor stated that justice must prevail as he noted that perpetrators of evil acts must be brought to book.

6. Mercy Aigbe

The actress said it's a shame on Baba Ijesha for finding himself in such a situation especially as it pertains to a minor.

7. Ronke Odusanya

The actress also noted that she stands with comedian Princess who is the foster mother of the 14-year-old girl.

8. Opeyemi Aiyeola

The actress said the excuse of the police in granting Baba Ijesha bail is not credible.

9. Nkechi Blessing Sunday

The actress expressed heartbreak in Nigeria's systems.

10. Uche Elendu

The actress asked if it was until Baba Ijesha slept with the girl before they find him guilty.
